STRATEGIES FOR ORAL EXPRESSION

In this session, some classmates developed a class in which both listening and speaking was exposed to the class. they tried that most of the students could participate in each activities that they did. I think that the most important thing in an English class is that students can speak more than the teacher. Students have to show what they already know and they have to believe if they practice more often in class, the outcomes will be better so teachers are just the guide for developing the 4 macro skill. Speaking is the skill to develop many areas as it is the fluency, pronunciation, and intonation. so we understand that this skill show how we are in those aspect that's why teachers have the obligation to perform activities that students can develop this skill. for example: activities in peers, presentations, interviews and so on.

Functions of speaking

Imagen relacionadaTalk as interactions: it means "conversation" when people share greetings, and experiences like a social function. Teachers can do activities in which students can develop brief talks in peers or in group as well.

skills involved: Jokes, several topics to discuss, making small talks.

Talk as transactions: the most important thing here is the message, it means what the speaker is saying and done.

Skill involved: making suggestions, asking for clarification,justifying an opinion, or confirming information.

Talk as performance: this is means when people speak in front others, to trasmit information an audience.

Skill involed: Using apropiate format for a speech, presenting information in a sequence, using correct grammar and pronunciation by using a good vocabulary, and i think having a good body language to talk in public and being someone dynamic.

Session 5  This class was dinamic because the classmates were able to show their class based on the method that had been assigned, I could observe that  some activities involve the most students to participate, so  i really liked some activities. I think that learning process of a second language is a path where is shaped for the right curriculum, activities, homework,  and finally a good method for developing each class as well as a teacher who gives a meaningful teaching. Working with Competences in the ESL/EFL Classroom  There are two types of competences that students may have. So, teachers should develop a lesson plan regarding to the previous knowledge of the srudents  already have. The first one is generic competence, What does it mean? This is relate to students who have an innate ability of something or we can say a talent of a specific task. for instance, playing the piano or singing songs. It is mean to perform an action or function properly or successfully also it is called as basic competence. The second one is the disiplinary competencies where students learn what they need in a course, or in a life.
